11 February – International Day of Women and Girls in Science
In 1952, Rosalind Franklin took the first DNA photograph that James Watson and Francis Crick used in their research without permission. Based on Rosalind's data, they proposed the model of DNA structure - a double-stranded helix. Franklin was mentioned in a footnote of Watson and Creek publication. They were awarded the Nobel Prize in 1962, although Rosalind Franklin is not mentioned in this case either.
